Annual Giving
Each year the Boise State University Foundation invites alumni, friends, faculty and staff to make a gift in support of the university. Contributions are used to support and enhance the colleges, departments and programs at Boise State.
Annual gifts provide the university’s leadership with the unrestricted resources necessary to fund innovative programs, address urgent needs, support student scholarships, invest in faculty and staff, help pay for campus improvements, and furnish more resources to maintain a high-caliber university.
Participation in annual giving is a standard measure to gauge constituents’ satisfaction with a university. Participation is taken into consideration by corporations and foundations when awarding grants, high school seniors and parents when evaluating colleges and universities, and other donors when making their philanthropic decisions. Participation in annual giving is also a criteria used in national rankings of colleges and universities.
Your Gift, Your Choice
Annual Gifts can be designated in support of the Annual Fund, the BSU Scholarship Endowment Fund, or a specific college, department, program or fund at Boise State, such as:
The College of Applied Technology Fund
The College of Arts & Sciences Fund
The College of Business & Economics Fund
The College of Education Fund
The College of Engineering Fund
The College of Health Sciences Fund
The College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs Fund
Gifts can be made by check, credit card, or securely online and all gifts are tax deductible.
The Chaffee Society
The Chaffee Society is the Boise State University Foundation’s premier annual giving society, named in honor of President Emeritus Eugene B. Chaffee, the guiding force behind the expansion of Boise Junior College and its evolution into Boise State University. Read more about the Chaffee Society
Phonathon
The largest and most significant part of Boise State’s annual giving efforts is phonathon. Each year phonathon callers contact alumni and friends in order to provide the latest news about the university, update records, and ask for an annual pledge in support of Boise State.
All-University Campaign
Each year the Boise State University Foundation invites faculty and staff to contribute to the university through the All-University Campaign. Gifts can be made by check, credit card, or payroll deduction, and all are tax deductible. By signing up for payroll deduction, employees can give a little each pay period and have it add up to a significant amount by the end of the year. Learn more at the All-University Campaign page.
Matching Gifts
An easy way to double or even triple a donation to Boise State University is to find out if your company has a matching-gift program. Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in employees’ personal philanthropy. Simply obtain a matching-gift form from your employer’s personnel office, fill it out and provide it to Boise State University with your contribution.
